Citizenship, from what I have read is restored automatically when they complete whatever they have to do. It's the right to vote back. If you can vote and are old enough for a particular office then you can hold that office. With the exception of sheriff. And not sure how this has become about the board members and teachers. As far as they go, new board members and new teachers. This is a small town and if people want you removed then it will happen.

Boduke you may have read the wrong thing. Who knows what people will do. Losers it seems they have handled their jobs with out ethics and morals. I would rather vote for a person that has learned from a mistake and made changes than vote for one that continues to operate without ethic's and morals.

And all I've heard is what they've done in their personal life, The true question is how have they handled their jobs as board members?

First of all this was not specifically about the School board. It was a general question about election time in Alleghany Co. Next, adultery is a misdemeanor not a felony . And finally I can read if a persons civil rights are restored after a felony they get their rights back but that could take a long time. Personally I don’t think the citizens of N.C. would elect a convicted felon for office.

I'm voting for anybody but the ones there now. These people being talked about should already be gone. I do believe people in this county are tired of certain things. If you two (boduke,losers) are trying to voice out because of a crime then how about adultery. That's a crime in NC. Then the board members and teachers should go. If you want to talk about Ethics and Morals then they should go. Either way they need to go.

The only thing NC changed was being able to be sheriff. Maybe do some research on it. Evidently neither you nor losers are lawyers but that doesn't mean you can't research things before you post. Most people do that anyway just to be able to have some sort of knowledge on whatever issue is being discussed.

Until North Carolina changed it some years back they could even run and become sheriff. Citizenship gives back the right to vote. According to NC law, if a person is of age to vote and hold the office the are running for then they can.

The disqualification applies to the ones who have not had their citizenship restored. Which means that the ones who have can. Please read article 8 all the way through.
