Everyone on here fussing or putting down law enforcement A. Your the one who voted the sheriff in office to begin with, everyone knows they will say what they need to to get a vote, your the ones who chose to believe it!! So deal with it. B. Does it really matter who eats where whether it's at home, from a brown bag, or at a restaurant, coming from someone who used to work at a restaurant I've seen more repeated customers than I see cops r they bad for eating there 2,3,4 times a week or is it ok cause they don't have a badge? N my suggestion before u start dissing law enforcement think about who you would call if something happened? Whether you get robbed at ur place of employment or u run ur car off the road (even in ice or snow) they risk their lives to come help even if that means they put theirselves at risk. Maybe you people should be thankful for our law enforcement instead of disrespecting them because it makes you feel better to put down someone publicly. And in all reality u have no more "guts" than ur claiming they lack, u hide behind ur fake user names so no one knows who exactly u are ur nothing but a pointless voice cause ur to scared to use ur real names, god forbid you dis law enforcement they have to turn around n need help!!! *****food for thought**** grow up n fuss about real stuff that matters!!!

PS they tried to get the old sheriff to stop the overtime, even offered him more help but he would not agree to anything and why spend overtime when they were on facebook not working that is embezzlement, get a search warrant for their computer history and it will tell you if they were working for the county on overtime or embezzling county money by the history, proof is in the pudding or the computer matched with the time

Rumors fly all over this county...as they do any where else...but I don't unders how someone can be hammered on for doing their job. There were deputies up there who were scheduled to work a 12 hour shift, 5 days a week. Last time I checked...that's 60 hours a weeks, 120 hours per pay period. This has been the norm since the pitiful days of the Caudill administration. Now someone please correct me if I'm wrong...but how can that be "embezzlement"??? Their saliries had to be approved by the county! Any of us could have went to the board of commissioners and asked what any person up there made. We all have the right to know how they spend our money.

Mamma2, I don't really see that anyone has said anything bad about the sheriff or the deputies. However, if in fact, what was happening w the overtime then and or now ( and I don't know) that's the same thing as stealing where I come from!!!! AND if in fact, the public was misled to get a vote, that's the same thing as lying.... So, with that being said, there's a right way and a wrong way to do things .

Pray for the deputies an the sheriff they work hard to keep us safe they don't get paid enough quit judging people give the sheriff time if you don't have nothing nice to say don't say nothing at all have a blessed day

Gap civil, your correct. They would put down they work x amount of hours and sometime not even be at home. Kinda like there a 18 hour day deputy. The excuse I was told was, it's to supplement the low pay the county pays them. That came from a deputy himself. They all do it or did it and I'm sure it hasn't stop. I thought the new sheriff was going to let part timers work at least a 12 hour shift a month in order to hold there certification.

It may have been explained/discussed earlier but I have no plans of going back and ready all this crap...so, what exactly are the details of this "embezzlement"? Were these guys supposed to be working x amount of hours, but were putting down that they were working more...? Someone who's so well informed please explain this to the rest of us.

let it start I was told by one of the xdeputys that mows my neighbor yard the new chief deputy cheated on overtime as much as the old one did at the time, a crime is a crime, all of them with rank did, so what is different and where is the investigation

I'm right there with you review. After reading the threads over and over you can tell who was working at the joke office. A lot of truth was share, bought to light to help Maines, even some was criticized for liking Maines and punished by bogus lies to the old sheriff. I guess we got two walking smalls. All I can say is your a one term sheriff and maybe someone will run that has a set and is not scared of the mall cops. The county voice should have been enough, but like I said it was a PLAN from day one. We need a sheriff that's not a local good ol boy. Someone who has no ties here, that way he want be two face and treat everyone like that should be. And I'm talking about no chiropractor either, even through he would have been better than what we have now.

As small a county as we are they are so two faced to do this in public if the Sheriff has any balls he would fire the ones at the Mexican Restaurant with him, WHAT A JOKE , we got screwed again, where is the investigation, new officers, real patrol, real crime fighters, same old liars with faults promises to take care of things and never do anything but sure can eat out with there old fat buddy. You can find them all at least one day a week at the Mexican restaurant, even the old chief deputy. maybe he's showing them the ropes. What a joke!! I voted for Maines cause he promised a change..... But yet all that has happen he's one leaves, and a few shift changes. Be the MAN you stood on the sidewalk and told me you would be!!!! And it's true about squeak being a unpaid deputy holding his certification so he can draw a retirement in two years. I call BS!!! I tried of this county being over run by corruption in law enforcement and who's got more money. I will stand up and fight!!! It's my right and the future of our children. I agree we need to see a change in staff, and this 4 years we are going to keep up with what goes on unlike in the past, we will hold the Sheriff accountable. They may think this sight is a bunch of bull but I know a lot of people that use this as a public way to keep in the know now and for the next 4 years, pretty bad job so far one good decision and many more needed, I hope he wakes up.
