Don't underestimate the elderly! They didn't live all these years without being resourceful. I'm sure they have seen more power outages they you could even imagine. You put your opinion out there for all to see so why would you even think someone would not respond? Why not just meet with our Mayor face to face and voice your concerns? Your turn......

Children included, while the elderly worried about no power which was included losing all the food 🥘 in the the refrigerator and how they would stay warm. Now you put it out there

You put it out there so its everyone's business. No I did not lose power but these things are planned and lots of folks (children included) were looking forward to this. With the crowd that was in attendance, I would bet that there were people there who were also without power but they made the best of a bad situation.

No one was blaming the mayor... it was in poor taste to have the event knowing several citizens were within power . Let me guess..... you didn’t lose power so you see no problem w the event going forward. So unless your name is mr mayor the thread has nothing to do w you. So I will grow up when you learn to mind your own business

Are you kidding? What do you expect our Mayor to do about YOUR electricity? I am sorry you were without power but should the world STOP because YOU have been inconvenienced for several hours? Grow up and stop being so selfish!

Dear Mr Mayor
As I sit here without electricity in the city limits of Sparta, it chaps my hind end. I am all for the Christmas lights. However, there are over a thousand residents in Alleghany Co (according to BREMCO map) without electricity yet when one goes through the town of Sparta it is lit up like Time Square. Once again me mayor I believe someone might have their priorities wrong!
