| I'm not sure if the SBI needs to look into that or if the County Commissioners can request an investigation. They are all Democrats and I don't think they are big Walking Small fans. It's just like he told the Republican Party several weeks ago that his department had over three million in seized funds that he bought all those full size trucks that get 10 miles to the gallon. But I guess that's not an issue if you just sit in the office all day and not patrol. The truth of the matter is, from what I understand, there was some money seized but it was under Mike Caudill's administration....it just took several years for it to finally be awarded. Walking Small wants to take credit for it though....and it was more like a hundred grand, not three million. He reminds me of the character "George" on the Seinfeld TV show many years ago who said....."it's not a lie if you believe it". Maybe that's what they say every week when they fill out their time sheets.

spoke with one of the deputies the other day and hr said even after the primary and all that has came out on the sheriffs dept during that time the sheriff is still letting overtime waste go on, you would think that he would have stopped at least that until the election

The Sheriff is not running the Department now that is why it is such a mess, just think if he were to get voted back into office and turned it over to you know who,,,,,,that would be the worst thing that ever happened to Alleghany.

Yep Maines has got this election in the bag. and no one cleaned up anything after the old Sheriff as a matter of fact the current Sheriff has just lived on the old Sheriffs leftovers. It was Mikes drug fund that made Edwards look good.;

Glad to see people being put back in their place. He can pop knuckles during the day and run with those little ole town boys at night and play cops . Congratulations to the Sheriff, everyone forgot what he cleaned up after the last sheriff. I just hope those few that followed the (Dr) around didn't really think he had a chance not being from the county. Now maybe he will pick his signs up off the road sides he put every ten feet...
