The Grassroots Arts Project of the Arts Guild of Alleghany County presents a free concert in honor of Black History Month. The Voices of Alleghany & Ashe will perform on Thursday evening, March 5, at 7pm., at the Alleghany Public Library.

The program will include work songs, spirituals, and songs of celebration, accompanied by background stories to relate the setting and lyrics, showing the importance of this music to the African-American community. In addition, members of Alleghany�s African-American community will share their collections of African art, traditional African clothing, and other historical memorabilia.
