Bruce is a hero for taking a stand and refusing to take nc citizens money, but the bakeries that wouldn't cater gay weddings are bigots. Riiiight.

I'll ask, AGAIN, why was the bathroom portion even added to the bill? Who were the transgenders who had been refused the bathroom of their choice? Where are their complaints?

Maybe you should get it more, it's help you I think.

I understand not compromising and standing up to bigots.

The state of NC hurt the state of NC, not Bruce.

I find it truly amusing to see how easily people in our fair state have fallen victim to the reason for NC HB2. It's been hailed as "protecting our women and children", but in reality has much less to to with that. This probably wouldn't have happened outside of a big election cycle. This bill is a reaction to another "moral majority' voting block being organized to save the state from liberals, with none other than Franklin Graham leading the charge. It's easy to get people who like to keep everything simple (simpletons) on board with a Bible thumping agenda that allows them to get the illusion that their religion is actually driving politics. In reality, it's not their religion at all, but their vote, and whatever must be done to get that vote will be. In this case, the Charlotte City Council created their platform. I agree that the restroom issue should be kept as-is with single sex restrooms based on biology, but that's not all of this bill that folks are objecting to. By not naming sexual preference and sexual identification into the non-discrimination part of the bill, it will allow for people to not be hired, fired from a job, and denied services based on sexual preference and sexual identification. The real Catch 22 here is that if sexual preference and sexual identification would have been indicated in the bill, it would have invalidated the restroom issue. No, I don't believe for one minute that Governor McCrory or the supporters of NC HB2 had anything at all in mind with this bill except for the votes lost if they didn't do it.

"Prove a point"

Yeah, by hurting the working cititzens, the concert goes, people who are condemning HB2.

Yeah, big deal. Sometimes that "point proving" gets lost in the ignorance of how he could have turned a negative into a positive. Obviously, Springsteen is blessed with the prestige to make a statement people would actually hear and the means to provide a great deal of money to this cause he's "standing up" for. I understand he is benevolent. But, he blew a big opportunity to "prove a point" which hurt the very people he is supposedly supporting.

You don't get - maybe you'd do something against your beliefs for money but not everyone would.

No. I wouldn't do something against my beliefs just for money and thank you NC for saying I don't have to. No. You are the one that don't get it.

PayPal didn't do anything but hurt the people that could've been hired. Some of those people could have been LGBT folks.

All this other hoop la with Bruce just hurt his fan base when it comes down to it. Back in the day I liked some of Bruce's music, got several of his albums. Reality is he's just another Old Dude trying to get Center Stage one more time. Bruce was and is about any Cause that will get him some attention. I'm a fan of Bruce he's not the best singer and he's never been that great of a singer so I doubt he'd have really packed in stadium. The Steel Mills are gone, The Vets are still being treated like **** but Bruce has moved on to new causes.

I doubt Very seriously Anyone would have Even thought about Old Bruce coming to the rescue before this! I'd say that Most people hadn't listened to a Bruce Album in a very long time. Truth Be told I'd say they're not listening to his music Now either. If they tell the truth!

The NBA will hurt their fan base if they choose not to host a game or games. They're going to hurt Charlotte where this originated from. That says they're going to hurt the transgender folks down there.

Really in short this is going to Hurt a lot of Innocent people that had Nothing to do with it either way.

Punish an entire state including the people that you're defending to make a ****g statement. Good Job!

You don't get - maybe you'd do something against your beliefs for money but not everyone would. And to say he should have just to donate the money is still him going against what he believes. Seriously, this isn't difficult to understand.

empowers

So who cares? The ones behind the push to allow transgenders to use the ladies room are perverts and pedophiles. Just like the ones behind the push to confiscate all guns are the criminals - to make their job easier. I know most posters on this thread won't like what I said and will jump. Thats okay, jump all you want. I know I'm right. Oh, I made up my own mind. No one has influenced me in this.

Just because you think that does not mean you are right. It just means you have a viewpoint. Most of the time the real truth lies somewhere in the middle of two viewpoints.

Would you do something you felt was wrong just to get the money?

DUDE.....NOW YOU GET IT!!! I'm delighted!!!! Oh, wait. I bet that doesn't apply to the cake bakers, or the ministers, or anyone refusing to perform gay marriages.

You still don't get it!

Who, AGAIN, did Bruce really hurt??

Why wouldn't Bruce take the big corporation money of Chrysler and use it to provide housing for homeless veterans, who defended the country he supposedly loves and likes to use in his music? By turning down that 12 million, who did he help? No one. Why not take the money? Ah...that's what it gets down to. To make himself look good.

I don't know how to dumb it down any further for you.

This was to prove a point to NC idiots that passed this bigot law.

"prove a point". I made a point and it went unnoticed. He saved a few NC "fans" some money. Economic plus!

I know all you liberals are basking in the uber-orgasmic glow of these boycotts but do you realize who is, in reality, actually suffering from these boycotts? Yes, you know and how can you revel in this like it's a victory for your "side"?
How foolish

Bruce is a chest beater. If he wanted to "stick it" to North Carolina, he would have donated the proceeds of this concert to NC LGBT Equality groups (I notice "you all" are failing to comment on this).

Instead, he is punishing the transgenders in this state, their families and people so far removed from the situation, his point is meaningless.

Enjoy your sick celebration

I commented on your idiotic post about him donating the money, you just didn't like what I said.

Would you do something you felt was wrong just to get the money?

I don't review his tax records, but I have heard about him playing charity events. This was to prove a point to NC idiots that passed this bigot law.

No. Actually things were just fine for years when men went into men's restrooms until those much like those internet bully tough guys on here that want to bully women but are afraid to take their rears into a men's room.

Actually you are wrong mommo, everything was just find and Charlotte's ordinance was working for Charlotte, but the NC republicans weren't getting their way so in the night they snuck around and changed everything for everyone. So don't blame Charlotte soooooo.

No one said they were for sure not coming, but they are weighing their options and I'm sure looking to see when this HB2 will be overturned. It's not a question of if, but when.

mommotwo

Posted 11:04 am, 04/11/2016

And actually, it wouldn't have been an issue and none of this would have happened if not for CHARLOTTE. So....

do not yet know what impact it will have on our ability to successfully host the 2017 All-Star Game in Charlotte."
