Hangs, do they allow men to wear a dress? Because you know that's actually what I'm talking about...

Attached is Wellsfargo Employee Handbook, maybe you can find where the bank requires women to wear a dress.

Heads up guys- this is why that bill is NEEDED. Not just for the bathroom part. It's not ridiculous to require that a man wear pants to work. It's ridiculous if you want to take the employers right to enforce a gender specific dress code in a professional atmosphere. A man shouldn't be able to come to work in a dress. No matter how beautiful you think you look, it isn't professional.

See? This isn't even about bathrooms, and it's obviously not about "safety." It's about people wanting to deny transgender people basic human rights.

Bathrooms have always been a smokescreen.

Of course you would deny a transgender person a right. I'm guessing every right imaginable. Any and every right.

I am no longer surprised.

I think a business owner should be able to fire a man for wearing a dress to work. Ya.

Am. Shouldn't be surprised. Am surprised.

She literally wants to fire people for dressing like human beings.

Is this employer forcing women to wear a dress?

There are actually a lot of employers that require men wear a suit and tie and women wear a dress skirt or dress pants. There are a lot of very specific dress codes out there. Especially in banking, etc.

Let's address this again. If I am a business owner in a professional atmosphere that requires gender specific dress codes, do I want a law in place that forces me to allow men to wear dresses in the workplace? Because if I cannot enforce the dress code on a LGBT individual, then that's what's gonna happen. A man can't wear a dress in my workplace....BOOM- discrimination lawsuit. Ugh. Maybe....just maybe the bill isn't so bad all the way around.

Unless it's a strip club I can't imagine many if any businesses forcing women to wear skirts and blouses.

So you ARE saying you want to fire someone for dressing like a human being!!! I really wanted to give you the benefit of the doubt...but why would I?

Wow. Just wow.

I've seen a lot of political empires crumble and fall like little pieces of nothing. If the current bunch of politicians continue to pick up specks of dust on the floor while the roof falls in they will be voted out.

Don't think folks should be fired if they are LGBT? Awesome. Then you probably don't actually support HB2.
That's still a very simple comment that people need to think about. Slowly. From the standpoint of the business owner. Let's say you have a transgender that does not comply with your current dress code. Should you be able to enforce your dress code?

Oh for the love of.....

Is this employer forcing women to wear a dress?

This law professor really breaks it down and explains why you should be concerned.

I mean, you're basically saying it's okay to fire someone for dressing like a human being.

You've done it. You've actually managed to ask a question dumber than the others.

What exactly do you think a transgender person "dresses like" that would not comply with a dress code?

I mean...Jesus...think before you post!

Just because someone is gay doesn't make them a good worker, so an employer absolutely has a right to fire bad employees. What an employer doesn't have the right to do is fire someone because they are gay, big difference. That's discrimination. It's discrimination is someone is fired based on religious beliefs or the color of their skin. Being fired for being a crappy employee is not discrimination. I guess that confuses people sometimes. Just because I'm gay doesn't mean I'm perfect but I'm pretty darn close.

By the way, it's just my understanding that the bill prevents cities from making their own laws and doesn't change current NC anti-discrimination laws, right?
