Thankfully North Carolina never approved of this bovine excrement, so we never had to rescind :) Let's leave the convention dead and buried.

Apparently nine of the 17 have re-rescinded. Let's just do this thing.

17 states have rescinded their motions for a convention, so there are active motions in another 17 states. Let's hope the other 33 states have sense enough to just say no to this nonsense.

Lets hope enough of the states have opened their eyes, and rescinded their original motion, that this dangerous convention never, ever comes about. Does anyone know how many states have rescinded their original motions?

If not for losing our freedoms, it would be funny to watch the gullible Conservatards rush into this convention. But i would rather see Conservatards get educated and oppose this act of sedition, than see us all lose our liberty :'(

i only posted information that this organization has posted. there is more to read there. some will be opposed and some will jump in with vigor. if you skim the homepage, you miss everything. Skeptic if i have twisted something or fear mongered, let me know how....

i actually avoided the clearly stated purpose of pushing any liberal agenda aside and how that is possible. i did it in order to NOT appear biased to one side or the other.

this is no different than the patriot act. everyone was for it until the restrictions began to impact their lives. the NSA data gathering is a direct result of the patriot act ... due to expire once again at the end of next month. now we live with it, day in and day out..... and all because people didn't think when they turned over their freedom to the federal government ...

so now here is the this organization trying to "only add a couple of amendments" pffft excuse me if my bollocks meter has a short fuse.

when they clearly point out how to run a conservative agenda thru while liberal states sit with their thumbs twiddling, i take offense that anyone would be happy to see under-representation of any group. are we not all americans? does anyone remember the boston tea party? how could you possible be agreeable to conspire to lock out significant parts of your own population? are you doing it solely based on disagreement with them? and what prevents someone coming for your freedoms next?

and how did those nazis come to power?????? study it people because you are on the verge of repeating it. and i am not calling these people nazis, i clearly said "HOW" did they do it ... because this proposed pathway is very similar.

I wish the liberals would put fear of this convention into peoples hearts. It would actually be a good deed.on their part lol.

You liberals use fear like an opiate.

Time to get clean.

This convention nonsense is way too scary. Sounds like Pelosi saying pass Obamacare so we can see whats in it. By the time a convention opens and George Soros and his liberal minions have bought a new Constitution, our freedom and liberty to do something about it will be gone :( Look for a mass exodus of Conservatives to Canada if the convention happens :(

Elmo hit the nail on the head, this convention if it is realized, Heaven forbid, would allow our entire Constitution to be rewritten and replaced by who knows what :'( All freedom-loving Patriots need to resist this convention with all their might!

The convention requiring a 3/4 vote seems to have more checks and balances the the fed governtment does has now.

LIberty Amendment ...... kinds sounds like Patriot Act to me, same looney tunes approach. if you don't agree then somehow that makes a persons a traitor

11. One proposed "Liberty Amendment" allows 3/5 of the U.S. House and Senate to overturn any Supreme Court ruling. But Article III, Section 2, Clause 2 grants Congress the power, with only a simple majority of both houses of Congress, to overturn Supreme Court rulings by limiting the appellate jurisdiction of the Supreme Court. Does the proposed "Liberty Amendment" strengthen or weaken this congressional check on the Supreme Court?

lots to read there, above from previous link

5. At the convention how many amendments can be proposed? There is not a specific limit under our application. It is relatively certain that there would be at least a few amendments proposed, perhaps as many as ten to twelve.

3. If the problem isn't the Constitution, but rather unfaithfulness to the Constitution, how will changing the Constitution remedy the problem?

The answer is simple: We must curtail the power of the Supreme Court to approve federal power grabs by the other branches. When we address the whole problem and not just pieces, a solution becomes apparent.

i know about the 2 items you mention, but if you read more of the site you can garner what some of the projected intentions are as well. it's obvious that those 2 items are not the total effort

What is the Proper Remedy for Unchecked Abuses of Power?

The question, then, is what remedy do we have when the Supreme Court interprets the Constitution in a manner that is historically incorrect, thus legitimizing federal actions that transgress the principle of enumerated powers and intrude upon the powers reserved to the states and the people under the Tenth Amendment? The answer lies in Article V. We amend the Constitution to clarify the meaning of the clauses that have been perverted. We assert our authority to close up the loopholes that the Supreme Court has opened.

the above is only part of what i read. i am trying to find the spot where i saw the exact proposal. i will look for a few more minutes but really do have some work to do outside. if i don't find it all now. i will search the site later

I am not sure what website you have been reading there elmo.....

A convention requires 30+ states to agree on the issues to be addressed by the convention. So far the two issues seem to be a balanced budget amendment and illegal immigration.

Both areas where the fed has willingly failed

i went to the website about this convention. i read the information, faq, typical answers they provide to potential questions, etc.

it was more than obvious that this is an attempt to push all liberal representation, initiatives, and goals aside. now depending on whether you are liberal or not, this is good or bad.

what really made me give pause was the intention of this convention to oversee and possibly overrule the supreme court. now whether that would pass or not, doesn't matter to me. the very fact that any movement to call themselves a constitutional convention while at the same time proposing a major change to the current constitution has got to be considered. per they own information, this convention is proposing that congress should be able to overturn a supreme court ruling by merely voting to do so .... what is the point of separation of power, or checks and balances?

i reject them based on the fact that they "say" they want to return to the original Framers intentions while at the same time proposing to do something quite the opposite.
