So you all aware that Lowes Foods just added a Beer Den in the Wilkesboro store? Craft beers on tap, you can sample any of them and they sell/fill growlers as well!

Sweet Baby Jesus is what I drink most, lately. It is what keeps me going until Foothills Brewing comes back with its choco-beer perfection, Sexual Chocolate, around Valentine's Day.

People's Porter is also very good, and I'll have one of those when I am in Winston.

Not a fan of any of the Dragon Milk stuff; it is way too heavy, like drinking beer flavored cream. I had Thrilla in Vanilla at Carolina Ale House in Winston early last fall, and was not a fan. I think my threshold for ABV for any beer is around 8%; once you get past that, I've found that the alcohol overwhelms the flavor. But that's just my little girl palette, perhaps.

With summer here, I will drink more IPA's; Bell's Two Hearted is the de facto choice, but there are many good IPAs out there, that you can mix and match at Lowe's.

When I am in town, I usually go to the Dispensary to have a beer or two. They have 13 or so beers on tap, and 11 or 12 of those are craft variety. The Hickory Crawdads also have $2 craft beer Tuesdays (and $1 hot dogs), so I will probably spend a few evenings down that way. It is $3 pint Wednesday at Carolina Ale House locations (Hanes Mall, Concord Mills Mall, and Uptown Charlotte at 4th and Trade), and they have 50 or so beers on tap.

I am with hangs; I cannot get down any American, mainstream beer anymore. It really is craptastic.

One beer a week? I spill more than that.

Politics are one thing, but beer is important.

Sparklin....finally we agree on something.

I like all sorts of drinks, but this thread is about beer.

Why don't you whiskey tards start a whiskey thread.

It's obvious that you are miserable. Be miserable somewhere else.

It depends on the type of beer whether draft or bottle is preferred.

Misinformation again Fins?

Not true.

It depends on the type of beer whether or not a bottle or draft might be preferred.

If you read that Denver article, I believe only one of th five places listed is really fine dining. But either way, a handful of examples doesn't mean it will be a huge trend in higher end restaurants. But the real reason you won't see this movement really grab hold in fine dining establishments, is beer coniseurs really prefer beer on draft. Kegs and tap systems take a lot of space. It will be tough for existing businesses to add it into their inventory and bars.

Disagree Fins. I like a glass of wine but more and more you see specialty beers in fine dining. Usually locally crafted.

Nice restaurants always have wine lists, and a lot of times have a whisky menu. College bars have beer lists. It's not an opinion

Most High school students can't afford craft beer, so they keep the gnat piss in business.

I remember wine coolers in high school and thought I looked good.

The Big Elkin Beerfest is scheduled for Sept 24.

If the elkin elite doesn't turn it into a boutique it might be fun.

Nor should it taste like gnat piss.

Drink a Stout beer.
