We don't do gifts for anything everyone buys what they need when they need it. We just get together and have a meal. Thanks for the info on how to cook the pie

gascon, Have you tried the chicken pot pies from Boston Market? They were on sale at Food Lion last week at two for five dollars. They are good also.

I don't like Christmas or birthdays. As a kid rasied so poor didn't get gifts and such. So now I just forget, or try to and treat it like anyother day. I will eat a Marie Callenders chicken pot pie, their delisious. was kidding about the whopper. if you fix the pie wrap foil around the other edges so it don't get to done. its white meat chicken in them. their less than 4 dollars at walmarks. i have one for thanksgiven and christmas.

The true meaning of Christmas is not overrated but I feel it has become too commercialized.

Anti. I hate to be the one to inform you but when your life is over it will seem the same way to you. ( wasn't much to it and nothing to look forward to)

A spinoff from Foxy's thread... do you find Christmas to be an entirely overrated holiday?
When I was a kid, we only got toys, candy, and new clothes on Christmas and birthdays! But things are totally different now... everybody gets whatever they want almost immediately. There's no anticipation or excitement because you can't possibly give them something that they've been wanting.
Even the food... we had ham once a year, and it was often given to my parents as their Christmas bonus! But now we pretty much buy ham any time we want it, and don't even think of it as a treat or anything.
And from a religious perspective, Christmas isn't even a Biblical holiday! There are 10 holidays given in the Bible, and we pretty much ignore all of them... even those that we were commanded to honor. If anything, Easter is infinitely more important than Christmas.
Beyond the pretty lights... what's the big deal?
