Even Trump is against it.

Adam Silver had some pretty strong words today about moving the NBA All-Star game if the law isn't changed.

Guess those lawyers didn't frighten him after all.

Besides HB2 here are a few more crazy North Carolina laws.
"All couples staying overnight in a hotel must have a room with double beds that are at least two feet apart. In Nags Head, you can be fined for singing out of tune for more than 90 seconds.
In Kill Devil Hills, it is unlawful to ride your bicycle without having both hands on the handle bars.
It is illegal to sneeze on the streets of Ashville.
In Charlotte, woman must have their bodies covered by at least 16 yards of cloth at all times.
In Winston-Salem, it is against the law for children under the age of seven years of age to go to college.
It is unlawful to have sex outside of marriage.
While having sex, one must stay in the missionary position and have the shades drawn closed."

I worked in India for only 6 months or so and my job kept me in Bangalore.

I did corporate auditing. Basically making sure companies that were doing business in the US were legit.

India is a gorgeous country if you are outside of the major cities.
I stayed in Bangalore for the most part.

Interesting. Do I know you? Do you by any change work for a diplomat?

Got to agree India isn't the cleanest place and most of what is shown on TV is propaganda. Seeing the real place is entirely different than what you see on TV.

Just like places in Mexico and even here in the USA, they pick the nicest richest places to show and you never see the real.

you can believe their hype all you want. ignorance is bliss.

sure, any place on earth will have it's beautiful or picturesque areas. that's what you are seeing. but the real india is behind the curtain, and being one of the poorest countries in the world for decades did NOT mean that it is automatically pretty and beautiful just because of a few biased documentaries or web pages.

the information and stats on the ugliness, poverty, pollution and unsanitary living for india... is out there 100x to 1 compared to all the good press that proponents are trying to feed you.

so back to the original thread... at least we have toilets over here to fight over. in india, it's never going to be a problem because most of the country is STILL living in the stone ages without plumbing or toilets. even with modern advances, indians still prefer to go outside, squat, and move on.

by the way, toilet paper is still a novelty in that culture. ewwwww.

Well I think it looks beautiful when I watch it on tv, they're known as the spice country of the world from the tv show I watched on cbs. What wrong me wanting to explore the vast world. I mean this right here is trying to limit down on plastic to stop pollution and though it's slow progress he's trying to chang the way of india.

I'd rather pay 2 bucks extra for his invention then plastic spoons and if you don't wanna eat them then throw them out as they will rot and won't pollute the earth.

Blackrose, it is NOT a beautiful country.
.
For all their propaganda they pump out - worse than north Korea actually - they pride themselves but actually do very little, and self-promote aggressively.

that country has MORE pollution than China which is almost impossible. it has the world's MOST polluted rivers. The LARGEST open garbage dumps in the world. the biggest slums - larger than most cities in the US.

The smell when you get off the plane nearly knocks you off your feet. And it never goes away, unlike the smog in China.

most of the population has NO plumbing (hundreds of millions of people...). Imagine that if you can and how medieval that is. Most people use the toilet wherever they are at the moment. Animal feces is EVERYWHERE in the cities. Imagine going to your church and having the entire walkway covered in monkey and cow poo. Nice. the taj mahal is hosed down daily to keep it looking nice on the outside.

The medieval CASTE system (look it up) is ACTIVELY SUPPORTED over there. You, being a woman, have no value.

No, anything positive you think is true about india is purely propaganda and carefully controlled spin. I've been there and seen it first hand. Truly an abhorrent and disgusting place all around.

And bollywood? don't get me started. elementary school kids over here could make better movies.

Their culture is decades behind us. naive, self-centered, and immature.

cheers!

To be a very beautiful country they're still working out on their problems.

yeah that country is a cesspool. absolutely filthy. there's not enough lysol or mr. clean to disinfect India so where do we sign up for that obamacare depends offer? hold on, wait a sec- sorry for that, had to use the bathroom it's hard to type and use the bathroom at the same time. these depends are great! like walking and chewing gum at same time. but have to admit, this H2B H1B or whatever it's called is great. no more bathrooms anywhere!

If you've never experienced using the toilet in Indian, I would highly encourage it. Now many hotels and restaurants now have inside toilets, for the most part it's open air. Basically a seat over running water.

All this posturing is moot.

I saw on the Today Show this morning, where entrepreneurs are hawking their inventions for a contest for "the next big thing"...

Public bathrooms will no longer be needed. The invention is a collapsable (sp?) cup that folds flat when not in use. If you need to use the bathroom, you just take it out of your pocket and discreetly use it wherever you are. (Like the common practice in India of males/females just squatting anywhere literally, and relieving themselves as they need to, except this gadget conveniently captures the waste for disposal into a trash can instead of anywhere on the sidewalk/street).

Even this invention is moot though. Obamacare now is issuing depends for all US citizens to wear no matter sex, age, or identity (provided you have both met your outrageous deductible, and pay the co-insurance premium for each pair of depends you use).

Bathrooms are soooooo 20th century now.

If I run out of toilet paper and the person in the next stall has to hand me some I would hope it would not be a man.

"it"???

Then maybe you should learn to check the stall before entering.

Maybe the Governor could pass another law requiring all women to wear a dress or those very short shorts, It would be easier to tell if I staggered through the wrong door. However, I believe the Charlotte ordinance requiring all women to be covered with at least three yards of cloth at all times is still in effect so only a floor length dress would be legal.
