Is this standard operating procedure at Glittering Bigot, Inc. when you're losing the argument so spectacularly?

I remember this m.o. from a few days ago.

Maybe you've just picked the wrong side, precious.

Uh, oh. Someone has lost their focus!

Why an I not surprised?

Honestly, someone with a little more class then shoulda is gonna need to insult me before I actually feel insulted. So no worries here.

Slow? Like people with disabilities?

That's mean. Really mean and not funny.

You need to knock that off.

Not in this case, glittering bigot. I just think she's slow.

I'm sure Jesus still loves Velcro Shoes, etc. etc. etc.

Now...do you have a problem with your focus?

Yeah. Someone told me last night it is referring to someone with disabilities.

Glitter the Velcro shoes is an attempt at humor insinuating that I cannot tie my own shoes. Um..coming from a grown man that don't know which bathroom to use it's not really even an insult.

oh and....

I did say "some conservatives," anti.

But I'm fairly sure Pat McCrory and the rest of the Republicans who rammed this through would consider themselves staunch conservatives. Actually, so would the Democrats who voted for it.

That's federal level. In the state of nc she has no recourse unless she goes federal.

Joseph T, that's actually the key to having HB2 thrown out really.

However this additional section you didn't mention:

Sec. 19. Law of the land; equal protection of the laws.

No person shall be taken, imprisoned, or disseized of his freehold, liberties, or privileges, or outlawed, or exiled, or in any manner deprived of his life, liberty, or property, but by the law of the land. No person shall be denied the equal protection of the laws; nor shall any person be subjected to discrimination by the State because of race, color, religion, or national origin.

In fact all of HB2 could in theory be in violation of the North Carolina Constitution.

HB2 never prevented private businesses from having unisex bathrooms. The bathroom portion of the bill has been blown way out of proportion to what it actually does.

As for the matter of requiring you to sue in federal court for discrimination yes that's a big problem with the bill and not the only one. It is something they could never have passed if the people had known beforehand what was in the bill, I doubt half the people voting for the bill knew what was in it.

I don't know about other places but every unisex restroom I've seen was for one person at a time. They have some where I work because some departments have only one sex working in them. By reading the law a private business can do what ever they want.

Now: Velcro Shoes likes the law in its entirety. She is a conservative. So some conservatives do not like any parts of the law.

Don't confuse Conservative with Republican.

Conservatives believe that the government should have minimal influence on a person or business. Obviously, creating new laws on which bathroom you can use is the opposite of conservative.

Robeson, I refrained from commenting on this thread, but your post deserves an opinion. You don't get out much do you? Coming down the mountain only on Sunday is a treat for many folks, and it is quite hard to fit Walmart, Lowes, and McDonalds all in one day. But, your a sandwich short in your picnic basket. That Lowes and many other businesses have in place unisexed restrooms. It's 2016 buddy.

How does everyone feel about state employees given back their rights and not the public sector?
How does everyone feel about thelady that was fired from her job due to her age and now because of this new law can do little about it?
http://wncn.com/2016/04/01/...l-fallout/

I don't think that is legal under the NC Constitution and can be beat in court

Sec. 18. Court shall be open.

All courts shall be open; every person for an injury done him in his lands, goods, person, or reputation shall have remedy by due course of law; and right and justice shall be administered without favor, denial, or delay.

Sec. 25. Right of jury trial in civil cases.

In all controversies at law respecting property, the ancient mode of trial by jury is one of the best securities of the rights of the people, and shall remain sacred and inviolable.

Has anyone notice the new restroom at Lowe's in Elkin ? They have put one beside the Men/Womens

and it is labeled Unisex. I don't know if that will work or not......!!

Not for long.

But you should see if LGBT folks have a problem with the boycotts.

Oogie

Posted 5:18 pm, 04/13/2016

Those employers boycotting the state are also removing employment possibilities for GLBT people in NC

I answered her, point by point.

I guess she thinks this is a game for the LGBT community.

Pathetic.

I've answered your question.

I'm fine with it and that same sort of bill has worked very well for lots of cities across the USA.

Now answer mine, it's only fair.
