Why does a race that makes up less than 14% Of the US population commit over 50% of the murders and robberies?

You have shown what you prefer to present as facts, your verifiable sources are as suspect as your facts. How can anyone refute you statements when you just come back with more falsehoods to back them up?

You haven't even tried to refute anything, Henry. You claimed that my sources are unverifiable, then when I showed that they were easily verifiable you just resorted to insults. I haven't said a single thing that's false or unverifiable.

Caj is doing a good job of refuting me, so it can be done.

Anti....look at percentages of population compared to deaths.

This is true, Caj, and it's a valid point. But the study I cited before from MSU found that "black citizens are more likely to have been shot by black officers."

From the study:

"Many people ask whether black or white citizens are more likely to be shot and why. We found that violent crime rates are the driving force behind fatal shootings," Cesario said.

"Our data show that the rate of crime by each racial group correlates with the likelihood of citizens from that racial group being shot. If you live in a county that has a lot of white people committing crimes, white people are more likely to be shot. If you live in a county that has a lot of black people committing crimes, black people are more likely to be shot. It is the best predictor we have of fatal police shootings."

By connecting the findings of police officer race, victim race and crime rates, the research suggests that the best way to understand police shootings isn't racial bias of the police officer; rather, by the exposure to police officers through crime.

The vast majority - between 90% and 95% - of the civilians shot by officers were actively attacking police or other citizens when they were shot. Ninety percent also were armed with a weapon when they were shot. The horrific cases of accidental shootings, like mistaking a cell phone for a gun, are rare, Cesario said.

"We hear about the really horrendous and tragic cases of police shootings for a reason: they're awful cases, they have major implications for police-community relations and so they should get attention," Cesario said. "But, this ends up skewing perceptions about police shootings and leads people to believe that all fatal shootings are similar to the ones we hear about. That's just not the case."

The fact that 90-95% of the people killed by a cop were actively attacking police or other civilians says a lot. But I haven't found a breakdown of the percentage of black people that were killed while actively attacking.

So if there's disproportionate number of black people being killed by cops, studies have shown it's because they are more likely to actively fight the police.

I would have guessed that this could be due to gang violence, but I'm not sure if that's really right. Statistically there are a higher percentage of Hispanics in gangs than black, so if gangs were the problem then you would see a much higher percentage of Hispanics:

But with 11.5% of gang members being white (compared to 35% black and 46% Hispanic), that might explain why there are fewer than expected white people killed by cops.

Here we go again. You don't have to be a Republican NRA member to own a gun. I know a number of Republican gun owners who should not be allowed within a mile of a firearm. Their handling and maintenance of there weapons is risky at the best. They have had no formal training and would probably be more of a danger to themselves or their fellow Trumpoids in any engagement with rioters.
Drinky time goodnight trogs and remember Hank Rules!

Any Democrats want to debate gun control now? Why a person should be allowed to have an AR or AK? Big round mags?....

I've shown nothing but facts, Henry. If you disagree then you're welcome to show your own evidence, but insults and calling names doesn't make me wrong.

Anti, I really wish I had some of the stuff you're smoking. I could convince myself that I have no bills to pay, that a good fairy would appear and take care of the copay on my med's and someone would die and leave me a fortune.
And Dog before you jump in I think your the only one I know of.

It's most certainly a race issue Anti, how do you figure it isn't?

Caj, I've shown in earlier posts that, statistically, white people are killed by police a LOT more often than black people. And studies have shown that "white officers are not more likely to shoot and kill minority suspects... black officers were just as likely to shoot black citizens as white officers were."

So there's not a national problem to be addressed.

There's no evidence that the cop that murdered George Floyd did it because he's black. He has had 17 complaints in 20 years, but they seem evenly divided between white people, Hispanics, and black people:

And it is now known that Chauvin and Floyd had worked together at a club and knew one another:

So in what way is this a race issue?

antithesis

Anti, I don't know what your politics are (though I can guess) but you have employed a typical Republican tactic to "prove" your point. Take isolated incidents then present them as being the general rule

Isn't that what the rioters are doing? Taking an isolated incident with George Floyd and presenting it as proof of racism, even though statistics show the opposite?

Also, citing unverifiable statistics, I guess Josef Goebbels is alive and well.

How is it unverifiable? Statista has a link that says "Show sources information," just click it.

As to the Minneapolis shooting, it happened in the dark of night in a back alley. It was not on video to be seen by all and sundry.

But what WAS caught on camera was every cop involved turning off their body cam:

This has nothing to do with partisanship, it's just logic based on evidence. There is no statistical evidence of a nationwide problem (in fact, there's evidence of the opposite), there's no evidence that this murder was racially motivated, and when it WAS the other way around (black cop and white victim) it took 8 months to make an arrest. So there's no evidence of police corruption.

Which leads back to the same question I've asked before. What, exactly, is the goal of the rioters TODAY?
