Yeah, it's bad..really bad. I'm listening to the MBPD live audio and it's more than the police can handle. There's talk of calling in the National Guard.

According to the article, this shooting was 15 miles away from Bike Week, which was about a 45 minute drive.
Negative. One shooting (3 deaths) was at 1st Avenue North Bermuda Sands Motel, which is in the heart of downtown Myrtle Beach. The other shooting was between 6th & 7th Avenues South. Those are just the two we heard about... there were more which the media didn't report on. Even the ambulance hauling the victims was shot at!

having been there for both bike weeks one was not any better than the other...but its advertised as an upcoming event so we stayed away and then enjoyed the beach later....it is money that is spent...this violence was not aimed at all those who go there to enjoy the event...as was said takes only a few to mess it up for others.....so sad it ended this event in this manner...

A kid was shot and killed in Greensboro during Merlefest this year. And 3 people were involved in a robbery and shooting the same day.
Wilkesboro needs to step up and end Merlefest, once and for all. The biggest majority of the hoodlums that show up for this event act like animals.

I saw the 15 second video, where someone was filming a fight across the street. I saw a bunch of black people on the street, but couldn't see who was fighting.

Myrtle Beach had two homicides in all of 2013. It's not fair at all to point to a single incident and claim that it's all bad. You're more likely to be shot and killed in a middle school than during Black Bike Week.
